Air Options are once again very pleased to be working with leading developer Bellway Homes at their prestigious Marconi site in Chelmsford, Essex.
This grand project was born out of the historic Marconi site close to the city’s rail station and city centre.
Air Options was tasked with all cooling, heating and ventilation works at the newly formed fitness studio and gymnasium.
The Samsung heat pump systems and heat recovery ventilation units were all exposed given the vaulted nature of the space, making aesthetics a key consideration when installing.
Samsung VRV wall mounted internal systems were linked via exposed services and cable tray to a single external condensing unit located at ground level. Internal and external noise levels were considered given the domestic nature of the surroundings.
Also of key importance was Air Options ability to work alongside the principal contractor and within close proximity of existing residential and commercial buildings. Air Options were instrumental in providing key design input and engineering a solution sympathetic to the needs of the designer whilst meeting the budgetary requirements of the contract, in what is an historic and important building.
The new Marconi Gymnasium site now benefits from a comprehensive and effective air conditioning system thanks to the hard work of the Air Options team.
Air Options design engineer Justin quoted “This was an interesting project and demonstrates how diverse our design and product delivery can be. The pressure was on once again to meet timescales and budgets, which we took in our stride. The client is very happy with the results”.
